I recently upgraded my LC3 server from a PII 450MHz to dual PIII 550 chips w/512 cache. I didn't order the kit from HP because it was so expensive. I ordered the parts online (kahlon.com)and purchased two heatsinks to go with them. They only parts I ordered from HP was the processor fan assembly for proper cip air flow and the VRM chip. They are about 50.00 each. HP has alot of unecessary parts for the cage assembly that just aren't needed. The upgrade went great. I am running NT 4 sp6. I didn't reinstall NT so I manually had to make the configuration changes so that NT would recognize them. If you are running Win2k or will be reinstalling NT it is much easier. Hope this helps!

I would like to know, from Jay Tatum, which are the part numbers that he ordered from HP and if he used an official reseller channel to buy them or another "unofficial" channel like kahlon.com.
I would like to do the same he did.
Thank you for your time.
