topic Processor Upgrade in Netservers

Is there an HP utility that can take the NetServers (LH 6000r) to a Multi-Processor Kernel and HAL for Windows. Compaq has a great one for the Proliant line, but I am new to the NetServer scene.

Thanks

Hi Matt,
the only SUPPORTED way to update your kernel to a multiprocessor kernel is to backup your data, reinstall windows with the new kernel and restore your data.
There exists no hp-tool that performs the update for you.
Regards,
Tobias Winkelmann

If there is such a tool for the Compaq, I would love to know about it. Can you give me information?
And if there is such an app than why would it not work on any system?

I've used the HAL update utility for Compaq Proliant servers dozens of times and it couldn't be easier.

On the SmartStart CD, navigate to \CPQSUPSW\NTSSD (for NT) or \CPQSUPSW\NTCSP (for Windows 2000) and run setup.exe. This is the normal way to upgrade all drivers in the box to the current SmartStart version, but if it sees additional processors, you will have the option to upgrade to the MultiKernel Processor and HAL.

Hope this helps for the Proliant side, but I still need some help for the Netservers.

Matt
