Thanks for your help. There is no specific pattern to this shutdowns and there are no records of BSOD's. I will be replacing the Pwr Spls and the Power Management interconect board and also will update the Bios.
I'l keep you posted.

What could cause the lh 3000 to reboot by itself?
Ran diags and everything came back OK, checked logs and there is nothing that points to a failure other than "unexpected" shutdown.
Thanks for any input.

Spontaneous, unexplained reboots could be the result of a variety of problems.

Has this happened very often? Is there any pattern to when these reboots happen? Have you checked the Event Logs? (both Windows and Hardware event logs) Are all your firmware and BIOS revisions at the latest versions?

You didn't specify which operating system you have, but I suspect you have Windows. If you are having a repeated problem with these reboots, turn off Automatic System Restart in Windows. For example, in Windows 2000 go to the SYSTEM applet in the Control Panel. On the ADVANCED tab, click on the START UP AND RECOVERY button. In the STARTUP AND RECOVERY window, uncheck the AUTOMATICALLY REBOOT checkbox.

This will prevent the system from rebooting when it encounters a fatal error (such as a blue screen of death). This will enable you to see the BSOD, which should give you some idea where the problem lies.

Please let us know how it goes.

Good luck,

Alicia

Well, three days ago I replaced the Power management/interconnect board and the power supplies and so far we haven't had a shutdown event. I thought you would like to know
