Hmmm, very interesting. I didn't see that particular code on the beep code list for the LC2000. You can see the list here:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=lpn10715&locale=en_US

But, I did find that 1-4-3-3 beep code for the LXr 8500 and several other, older NetServers. See the Beep Code list for the LXr 8500 here:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=tis11396&locale=en_US

On the LXr 8500 and several other NetServers, that particular beep code indicates a problem with "Autosize cache." The recommended solution is to check and replace CPU, then check and replace system board. Before doing any of that, I would make sure system BIOS is up-to-date.

But, I don't know if the same beep code error would apply to the LC2000. But, I would certainly update the BIOS on the system board to be sure. It could be the BIOS revision on your system board doesn't support the CPU stepping of the new CPU you added.

You can download the latest BIOS here:
http://h20004.www2.hp.com/soar_rnotes/bsdmatrix/matrix62572en_US.html

Which BIOS revision do you have? The latest appears to be 4.06.30 PV for Ultra2 SCSI systems and 4.06.04 RM for U3 systems.

Alicia

I am trying to add a second cpu to my server. However, the CPU I got give a beep code when it is installed. I have tried looking for it on the HP website, but no luck. It is 1-4-3-3. I think it's a bad CPU, but I want to be sure. Thanks for the help.

Brendon
