Thanks for the help Martin, it got me one step closer...I think:)!I still cant get into the setup screen, F2 doesnt seem to work. During the boot-up I get an error "No SCSI boot device found" "BIOS not loaded". This is keeping the cd-rom drive from working so I cant load the OS (2000 Server). When I try to update the BIOS, it never list the current versions, just a bunch of dashes like nothing is there. It does say that the update was successful, yet the above error seems to differ with that. Any more good ideas? Thanks again!

Did you boot to the ECU (EISA Config Utility) floppy after updating the BIOS? You have to run the ECU and save the config on the LHII either after updating the BIOS or after clearing CMOS.

Damn, it's been a while since I've updated the BIOS on one of those old NetServers, but I think the proper sequence to follow to complete the update is:

1. Run BIOS update
2. Power off system
3. Clear CMOS by moving "config valid" switch to OFF
4. Power system on, you should see some BIOS errors (completely expected after clearing CMOS)
5. Power system down, move switch back to original position
6. Boot to the ECU and save settings
7. Reboot server

Thanks Alicia, I'll give this a try. I got this server so I could get some hands on learning exp. I think the saying "Be careful what you wish for" just might apply here :)
