Did you mean a 933Mhz Pentium III. The Current LC2000 models can support 866, 933 and 1Ghz processors.

see http://netserver.hp.com/products/highlights_lc2000.asp

Hope this helps.

Gerarde

I would like to upgrade the processor in a LC2000 with a 533/PIII processor. I would like to know what is the fastest processor I can use and any other important info regarding the upgrade. I don't have any of the documentation for this server.

I wish it was a 933, but it is an older system running a 533 Pentium III.

The fastest the system supports is a 1GHz. Make sure you are up to date on the BIOS before installing. BIOS should be 4.06.30 PV.

Hi Please check http://netserver.hp.com/products/accessories.asp?pid=lc2000&pid2=lc+2000 for the newest. This may change soon. Also, make sure you flash the BIOS AFTER placing the CPU.
IN W2K you can change from single to multi CPU in the OS,
http://www.microsoft.com/WINDOWS2000/techenthusiast/tricks/administration/uniprocessor.asp

in NT4, you either back-up first then try UPTOMP

http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q124/5/41.asp

http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q142/6/60.asp

Good luck.

Officially, MS does not support UPTOMP, and therefore HP doesnt either, and therefore advises to reinstall after upgrading a second CPU.

Good luck
Ben
