Help I have a LM2 5/66 with a Mylex Raid Controller. I blew the EISA config and need the CFG file. The board has D040312-0-HP on it. Also has C3310-6055 on the board and DAC960E on PROM. I've checked the HP site, but haven't been able to find it. Any ideas?
Thanks Don
I think I found my problem I'm stupid. I programmed the card with the PCI firmware. I'm guessing I'm toast. I found the correct BIOS/Firmware, but since I can't get the EISA to config it won't run. Keeps saying no dac960 boards installed. I'm gettting a EISA config error 41. I tried the Mylex 73 and 76 CFG files. They look correct, but I keep getting the ID mismatch. I ran the readid command it shows !_I@8000.cfg So I renamed the CFG files to that and it found the cfg automaticaaly, but still fails with ID mismatch. Would you or anyone be interested in selling me a board? or have any other ideas?

Thanks !!

Don

email don@donsworld.net
Sorry but I don't know how to recover from that problem. And I don't have a HPDA board to sell. We've still got a PCI HPDA in one system in the office but its still used.

Don,

the C3310-60155 indicates you have a dual channel EISA diskarray controller. From what i read above it looks like you downloaded the F/W 2.47 in it.

The readme says :

///
Firmware Download Procedure:
----------------------------

Caution: The BIOS/Firmware download utility does not verify the content of the BIOS/Firmware file against the type or model of board. If the BIOS/Firmware is loaded into the wrong type of board, the board will require a new EEPROM chip before it can be used again.

Do not load this BIOS/firmware into an HP EISA DAC (C3609)! To be sure you do not update the wrong controllers, you may wish to temporarily remove those DACs from the system.
///

There were a couple of utilities available for those cards one was to reset the OEM identifier, it was called sethp.exe and sethpp.exe (for the pci version of the board).

Maybe you could run this one, not sure if it will help but from what i remember if the board is not recognized in the EISA config this utility helped out in certain cases, not sure here with the wrong BIOS or F/W flash in to it.
I attached these utils to this message.

good luck, Kris
