Hi Piere,

Make sure the following

1. Have the latest driver for the raid controller u have --U can get the latest driver from this link
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?locale=en_US&pnameOID=62575&taskId=135&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=50449〈=en&cc=us

2. Make sure the Firmware of the hard drives are latest, you can get the lates hard drive Firmware in here
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?pnameOID=19319&locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodSeriesId=65146&prodTypeId=329290&swEnvOID=54

3. If the hard drive keeps failing after all this, I would suggest to replace the SCSI cable and see if that makes a difference (Twisted SSI cable is recommended)

I hope this will help

Regards
Amha Kassa
Hi there,
I have two identical servers with the same configuration which are giving the same error.
They have installed 2 hot swap 18GB hdd's; as a mirror on a raid controller and both servers are loosing the same drive randomly. At first I thought that the drive was faulty and replaced the drives thus after almost a month the same error occurred on the new drive I have installed. In fact on the second failure I started rebuild on the same drive and it kept on working. Thus this error is occurring almost every month.
I have installed the latest firmware and bios updates of the server and also for the backplane and raid controller but still the error kept on occurring.
Do you have any idea of what can be the problem?

Thanks

Pierre
Pierre,
After you let the controller rebuild the drive after it flag it with an error, did it again flag it as Fault after a month?
If so, it does sound as if the controller is either misrepresenting the drive as faulty or is creating a error on the drive itself
