I have to update the BIOS on the Netraid 1M card and am looking for some reassurance!
I have been advised to update to H.02.01

Anybody had any issues that I ened to be aware of- I am worried that it will kill the raid array config if it fails to update.

Is it a high-risk update in terms of things going wrong?

Anthony,

There is always a slim chance that something will go wrong with a firmware update on a controller. In all of my time, I can only recall one upgrade where we lost the data after an upgrade. The thousands of other times went off without a hitch.

Always have a backup and have your config documented, otherwise the process is normally complete in less than 10 minutes.

Ciao,
Greg

Hi Anthony,

in addition to the risk factor of updating F/W, pls update at once to F/W version H.02.02 if you plan to do so anyhow. Their are good reasons to upgrade to this one instead to move just to the H.02.01 which is > 2 years old), have a look at the release notes on the URL below.

H.02.02 is available here:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?locale=en_US&pnameOID=51917&taskId=135&prodTypeId=329290&prodSeriesId=51915&submit.y=0&submit.x=0〈=en&cc=us&swEnvOID=54

HTH

Kris
