Hi Sangki,

beep codes are documented on hp support pages like these:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=lpn10715&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=50440&locale=en_US
or
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=lpn12052&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=50440&locale=en_US.
Diagnostic ulitilities you can also find on bizsupport.

The server beeps for about 1 minute and then stops. This recurs once in a few days. What could cause the beeps and how can I track it down?

Any help appreciated.

Sangki

What do the beeps sound like? Do they come in any pattern at all? If you hear a series of single beeps that occur about 1 a second, then it might be a NetRAID alarm warning you of a failing RAID array.

Alicia

Thank you for the reply.
It was rather rapid beeps, more than 1 a second. Is there any diagnostic tool or procedure for this situation?

Sangki

Thank you for the reply.

It could be the UPS, not the server, that beeped. The UPS, sitting right next to the server, had a red warning light on and I did not notice it until today. I replaced the UPS with a simple power strip and I have not heard any beeps so far, hoply never. Thanks again for the help.

Sangki
