The "PCI module" is actually called the PCI Riser cage for the Netserver LP2000r. This part contains the 3 PCI slots available in this server. You have one NetRAID card installed in one of the PCI slots.
What apparently happened is that the PCI riser cage became loose - at least loose enough to prevent any installed PCI cards from being detected.
The integrated SCSI is not part of the PCI riser cage, so it was detected during POST.

Good troubleshooting!

Hi,

I have a LP2000r that lost its Raid Controller. The boot process went off the internal LSI SCSI adapter did not detect the NETRAID, displayed a summary screen and then tried to boot via PXE.

I took the PCI Module out (its a daugherboard with 3 PCI slots on it and the NETRAID is on one of the PCI) and reinserted, powered the machine back on and like magic its back!

Any ideas? Ran the RAID utility and the battery says its got a charge and looked good. The server was powered off for about a week - any thoughts on what would make a RAID controller just disappear?

Thanks,

Rob

hello,
the net raid config is saved on the controller and on hard drives.
if you lost the controller config may be the battery on the scsi ctroller is dead and you must replace it .
then at boot tape "ctrl m" or "ctrl ," to access netraid config then choos hard drive cofig to back up it on the netraid controller.
good luck
Regards
