Hi I am new to severs but am learning and I am really interested in running my own for web hosting and file sharing. I just obtained a netserver LH 2 with windows nt server 4.0. A couple questions, please bare with me.I am a complete newbie. When it boots up I have to pick from windows nt srver4.0 or the same except vga version. What is the diffrence? With my real problem besides not knowing much, when I first started it up all drives seemed to be working? All 6 hot swapppable drives were combined to make one big drive. I created a full disk capacity partition(4 gig thats the hardrive sizex6). I formatted them all. Everything was fine, I did this so when I had it on my network I could see all 6 drives with seperate letters and could keep track of it easier that way. All seperate drives I could access without any problem, just what I wanted. I'm not sure when it happened but I restarted the server and when I went into acces any of the drives I get a message that says:G:/ for intance is not accessible:<BR />the request could not be performed because an i/o device error. When I go into disk mgmt. It shows all 6 disks offline. This happened before and I noticed my #2 drive on the outside of the machine has 2 lights, a power light and a disk active light. All power lights are on all the disks except # 2 has both lights on. As I said this happened before so I pulled # 2 drive and put another one in it and rebooted then after I partitioned it and formatted it and rebooted I could read it along with all the others agin. Problem fixed? It happened again What do you think might be the problem? Please help me? It has windows nt server 4.0 with service pack 1 I belive. Is there any dialup isp that I could run off this machine so I can update it. I tried netscape which I run on my main computer but it said something about could not find winnet.dll I don't know I appreciate any effort you put towards this messy task thank you very much!

NT4.0 was up to service pac 6A You should be using at least 4 but would recomend 6. prior to 4 server was not y2k compliant - 4 brought it to that point but you could not change equipment in the unit. You can work with a 28.8 modem as a remote to update or use an other machine to down load SP 6 or 6a put it on a cd and load it.
