Hi Julio,

Yes you can migrate it in netraid assistant. However, make sure you have the latest Firmware and driver for the raid controller. And of cource, make a good bbackup to be on the safe side

You can download the latest Firmware
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?locale=en_US&pnameOID=51917&taskId=135&prodTypeId=329290&prodSeriesId=51915〈=en&cc=us&swEnvOID=54

and driver
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?locale=en_US&pnameOID=51917&taskId=135&prodTypeId=329290&prodSeriesId=51915〈=en&cc=us

Steps to migrate to Raid 5 (in Netraid Assistant)
1. Run Netraid Assistant
2. Under Physical Devices section Right click the Hotspare drive go to Tools and choose fail drive (It will change status to READY)
3. Make sure you are in Logical View
4. Drag and drop the drive that is showing READY on to the Logical drive (it shows as LD0:RAID1:XXX MG where XXX is the size of the logical drive)
5. you will get the option to choose a RAID level and go ahead and choose RAID 5

I hope this will help

Regards
Amha Kassa
Hi,

We have a LCxxx Server with a Raid 1 (2x9Gb) + 1 HotSpare disk on a NetRaid 1M card.

We have around 4Gb of free space but we would like to migrate to a Raid 5, taking the HotSpare as the third disk.

Is it possible to migrate from Raid 1 to Raid 5 with HP Netraid Assistant without having to reinstall and full restore the system and data?

Thanks

Julio Moreno
