Hi Kazim,

When you pop the new driv ein does it try to rebuild and stopped or just don't do nothing?

Did you saw any disk activitiy (Like flikering on the drive LEDs) when you pop the new drive in?

May be the controller is set not to Auto rebuild? boot to CTRL + M and check the controller property (Object/Adapter/Properties)

I wonder why u did not see the configuration through CTRL + M. Did you ahve a hardware mirror? if you do you should see the configuration in Netreaid express tools (which will be entered by CTRL + M)

Reseat the SCSI cable on both the controller and drive cage side.
Update the firmaware of the raid controller

Regards
Amha Kassa
Hi Kazim,

I hope you did not initialize the array after you recreat the array. If you did so you lost everything for sure.

But If you did not initialize the array that is good, chances are you might get the data back. The question is, when you recreat the array did you ahve the original failed drive or the new replaced drive?

In anycase you have to fail the drive that is in the slot where the drive was failed before (when you reconfigure all drives will be online so make sure you fail the drive that is in the slot where there was a drive failure)

Regards
Amha Kassa

Sounds to me that you gave him bad advice.
The mirror he had was probably software and not the RAID card, that is why he saw nothing
