I was given an LX Pro 6/200 (i think) from work and I can't get it to boot. The drive cages startup and there are three beeps when i power it up. But there is no video to the monitor (although it seems like it has sync) and it's LCD show one line w/ all black.

Anyone have any ideas? I've tried CMOS clear. And that had no effect.

(Could it be a bad system board?)

From 3 beeps error, I think it is first 64K memory test failure, maybe you should check and replace SIMMs inside your lx pro.

One thing we have found with hte LX Pro is that if you have an up to date keyboard plugged in, ie one with a windows key on it, it will not boot at all!!

Try it with an old keyboard, with no windows key,

Dan

I have a LX Pro that was donated to us. It will not boot. I have changed the system board and the memory board. I used a older keyboard without the Win95 key. I have started it with CMOS clear and it will beep 3 times. When we first got it it booted once after I reseated the boards. After that it quit booting at all. I have reseated and visual inspected the boards and could see no problems. I verified the system board switch and jumper settings. I tried it with the NIC and NetRaid removed. No video comes up so it doesn't get far enough into the boot to give me any clues on failure. The management board has a flashing green led. Front panel is green leds. It should be noted that one system board would generate 3 beeps (even with CMOS clear off) which indicated memory. I replaced memory and had same problem. Then replaced memory board and still same problem. We are a non-profit homeless shelter so spending more money on parts is not a good option. Is there anything else I should try before giving up?
