NetRAID 1m and TC4100

I have an existing TC4100 server in which I am removing the existing single drive and installing two new Ultra 3 SCSI drives in the mass storage cage and a NetRaid 1M controller.

I have installed the hardware and booted up from the NetServer Navigator disc that gives me access to Raid Assistant. It sees the controller but it does not see the discs.

Now the dumb question do I need a cable from the internal connector on the controller card and if so to where? The SCSI A connector is in use for a tape drive and the SCSI B connector is connected to the mass storage cage. The documentation only talks about cables for external drives.

If a cable is not required for internal drives I still have the problem of why the Raid Assistant does not see the drives.

Okay, let me see if this straight; you have a hard drive in the drive cage connected to a NetRAID-1M controller and you are replacing it with 2 other drives? Or do you mean to say you have a common-tray drive connected to your embedded SCSI connector?

In order for this to work the way you want, you need to have an unterminated SCSI Cable running from the backplane (at the back of the hard drives) to the connector on the NetRAID-1M card. Then you can go into M at startup to access NetRAID Express Tools. You can create a new array by going into Configure-->New Configuration and following the options at the bottom of the screen.
