Upgrading my machine

Hi everyone

I'm considering to upgrade my machine
now, I have a single 500mhz cpu, but that isn't enough

So I want to upgrade to a dual 500 or higher.
Only, i already have a 500mhz out of my old computer ( non hp ), is it alloud to use that cpu in the netserver, together with a second VMR?

And where can you buy a second VMR? because i haven't got one

To use your old CPU should be OK, there are no conflicts in same MHz PIIIs from Intel, BUT:
You need to have a compatible Heatsink.
You need another VRM, available online.
You need to upgrade your OS to Multiprocessor.

If this is a PIII/100MHz Netserver like the LH3 or LC3 then the PIII/550 MHz was the top end.

If this is a PIII/133 Netserver like the LH3000 then you can go to 1000MHz

I still have a question,

my first cpu is a 500mhz, but my second is a 450, will it work??

also, where can u buy a second VMR?

We need to know which Netserver model this is before the correct VRM part number can be provided.
If you install more than one processor in a computer, the CPU speed and cache must be the same.
