Hello all

LH6000R (P1817A) Supplied to customer. Has had Window 2K installed and a Netraid Card (1M or 4M). when system boots up, the top red LED of the 3 on the control panel flashes. It continues to flash while the server is on. It then will hang as soon as you ask it to do something (such are open error logging) and needs to be re-booted.

engineer has reseated the memory and the cpu, and has checked all connections.

can anyone shed some light on the situation, as i have been asked to look at it, but know very little about netservers

John,

the LH6000r has a front panel dispaly which allows you to lookup the hardware log entries in the servers nvram log, maybe this log can explain you why the red led is on.

Try to minimize the hardware configuration by i.e. removing I/O cards, limit memory to minimum 2 DIMMS, leave just one CPU etc etc
then see if the issue is still their and isolate some defective component hopefully.

HTH

Kris
