Hi,

Someone helped me find the solution. It was a simple thing, but unfortunately I have little experience:

The problem was that the original CD drive didn't work, and I realized it too late. I put it in another PC and it was recognized, but can't read any CD.

I couldn't boot with the CD drive that I replaced it with because I forgot to set the jumper to cable select and it was not recognized by the bios.

I changed the jumper setting and now it's booting fine.

Akos

Hi,

I'm new to servers. I'd like to install Windows 2003 on the above server (400Mhz single CPU). Previously WinNT server was installed, so I started by formatting all hard drives. Then in Bios I've set CDROM to be the first booting device, but after every restart I always get the error message 'operating system not found'.

I've tried these:
1) made sure the CD is bootable by inserting it in another computer
2) changed the CD-rom drive in the server
3) booted from Win98 boot floppy disk with CD-rom support and I could open the CD and see the files on it.

What am I doing wrong?
Thank you for any suggestion.

Akos
