HP NetServer LP2000R Serial-Number

Hi all,
i´m with a problem in hands, i need to know the serial number of my server but i can't see it because it's to hide to see and i cannot turn off the server to take it out of the rack to see the serial.
Is there any software to know HP serial-numbers ?

Hi There,

If the server is running a Windows operating system, you can use Instant TopTools to check the serial number. Download it here:

Running the executable will extract the setup files to a folder. Run setup.exe from that folder and when you run the utility, you will be able to see the serial number from the Identity tab.

Thank you for the help, When i install the software it gives me an error. You can see the error in the attached *.jpg
I think it's because the OS i have it's not the one that came from HP with the server, am i right?
Can anyone advise me another tool to see the HP Netserver LP 2000R serial number?

Hi,

I've seen this message. It happens when you're trying to install from a remote location. There are 2 workarounds:
1. Log on to the server locally and install.
2. Download the Server Agents and Instant TopTools package from this link:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=50440&prodNameId=30461&swEnvOID=226&swLang=13&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=ns-11141-1
The installation package allows you to push the software to any Netserver on the network. Just make sure that you only install Instant TopTools; don't install the Server Agents.

Thank you very much, it worked, it was because i were trying to install de top tools remotely. It's the first time i'm trying the "HP instant top tools" and it's amazing what we can see and do with...
