LH 3000 RAID

I have a Netserver LH3000 with RAID5 configuration using 3 disks. One of them failed. Can I rebuild the array from the other 2? Can I replace the damaged drive with a new one with larger capacity? I know the excess capacity will not be used, but larger drives are easier to get nowadays.

Felipe,

yes, just plug in the new hard disk (online) and the Netraid controller will rebuild the data from the 2 remaining disks onto the new disk. Once done, your array is redundant again and can tolerate another disk failure.

If the rebuild does not automatically start, then launch the Netraid Assistant Utility and you can start a rebuild form their, this is nly needed if the rebuild setting is set to disabled in the setup of the Netraid controller (which can only be changed off line in Express Tools CTRL M)

Hello Felipe,

Usually this operation is automatic when you reinsert a new hard-drive.
If not work, reboot the system and use the Scsi raid utility with CTRL-M after the Bios check.
