LH3 Netserver is was set up with 2 each 18GB drives in slot 0 and 1 mirrored loaded with the OS and 5 each 18GB drives in the second cage slots 10, 11, 13, 14 and 15 as RAID5 for storage.
I added a third drive to the first cage in slot 3, set it as active, in the array manager and I see the drive in Windows device manager as HPNETRD LD 2NETRAID.
I thought it would just show up as a "F" drive in addition to the "C" and "D".

How do I activate/format this drive in Windows2003server?

hi,

you will need to configure as raid 0 first, initalize this drive on its own in the netraid manager utility. It may have just added it as a hotspare for the mirrored drives.
once this is done you will be able to format/partition it with the disk administrataor utility in windows and asign it a drive letter.
As it is on the raid channel/controller it has to be treated as a raid disk. You will get increased performance with this way aswell as the disk will be stripped, as oposed to just a disk in windows

Andy
