    <description>Hello!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SO you say that you can work with the tape&lt;BR /&gt;with commands like tar (read/write) also dd.&lt;BR /&gt;If so maybe you need to upgrate the tapeware&lt;BR /&gt;for the newest version.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Caesar</description>

      <title>Tapeware back up problem in Linux</title>

      <description>I have a HP Surestore dat 40 tape array attached to a Itanium Server, after install the tapeware for linux that come bundle with the tape array, it cannot backup to the tape when I try to run it, the error message is error 88: No device specified or all devices are now offline. But i can use tar command to backup the file onto the tape. Is there anything I missed out?</description>
