      <description>The Kernelupdate needs RedHat-Updates (modutils for example) is it safe to update all RedHat-Patches without Redhat Kernel Updates?</description>

      <description>It would be okay to apply RedHat 7.1 rpms to Secure OS software for Linux.   Most rpms do not have a dependency on kernel rpms.  During the test phase the rpm will list any dependancy needed.</description>

      <description>In general, you need to be very careful about resolving dependencies.  Using --nodep can get you into trouble.</description>
