I have a DL 380 G6 server that is not coming up if two CPU are installed. If only 1 processor is on the server, it will boot normally but will not if the second one is added. What do i need to do? Update the firmware or what?

Thanks.

yes it's an HP CPU exactly the same with the other one. Even when swapped, it will also work but the two can't just work together. What version of firmware will resolve this case or any other thing that can be done?

What is the power supply in your server? Is it possible you have one small (400W) power supply that is not enough for 2 CPUs? What else is in the server that would use a lot of power? how much memory, PCI cards, disks?Check with the HP power advisor.

http://h20338.www2.hp.com/enterprise/cache/600307-0-0-0-121.html
