Hello,

I have a DL 360 G6 server with E5540 proc and 6GB RAM and p410 smartarray.
Standard there is a pci and a pci-e risercard in place.

I received a pci-x riser kit (P/N 518824-B21) and placed it in the server (removed the standard pci-kit according to instructions).

Purpose of the pci-x riser kit is to use a pci-x u320 dual channel scsi card of lsi logic (part A7173A) to connect the storageworks LTO-4 1840 tapedrive.

Well, all is in place but... the system does not see the scsi card nor tapedrive. Like the LSI Logic U320 card is not in the system... I would expect some POST messages from it normally...

A diagnostic with the smartstart cd tells me the system sees all pci slots as available.

The risercard is pressed firmly in the socket, so is the pci-x card.

Can anyone help me out here? is the pci-x risercard broken?

Kind regards and thanks in advance

John
Did anyone help here? What was the resolution? I'm having similar issues with a particular set of riser cards meant to be used with PCI-X devices.

Hi,

place the card in another PCI-X slot.

It seems there is an address conflict with the scsi controller. Replacing the card the another slot eliminated the problem for me.

John
