Hi,

Error Message: 1792-Drive Array Reports Valid Data Found in Array Accelerator...
...Data will automatically be written to drive array.

Cause: Audible Beeps: None Possible Cause:
Power was interrupted while data was in the array accelerator memory. Power was then restored within several days, and the data in the array accelerator was flushed to the drive array.

Action: No action is required. No data has been lost. Perform orderly system shutdowns to avoid leaving data in the array accelerator.

regards.

Running out of options with the P600 controller as we are unable to provide a stable data flow for our Linux server.
The array is mounted and works great but after some data exchange the drive does not exchange any data and I/O error during data read. The only temporary fix so far is to reboot the server but after "some" data exchange we again have the same problem.

I know this issue has something to to with the: Drive Write Cache...

Here is the configuration of the controller:

Smart Array P600 in Slot 1
Bus Interface: PCI
Slot: 1
Serial Number: P92B3AE9SX0020
Cache Serial Number: P6757AA9SWZ036
RAID 6 (ADG) Status: Enabled
Controller Status: OK
Chassis Slot:
Hardware Revision: Rev A
Firmware Version: 2.04
Rebuild Priority: Medium
Expand Priority: Medium
Surface Scan Delay: 15 sec
Cache Board Present: True
Cache Status: OK
Accelerator Ratio: 50% Read / 50% Write
Drive Write Cache: Disabled
Total Cache Size: 256 MB
Battery Pack Count: 2
Battery Status: OK
SATA NCQ Supported: False

Array: A
Interface Type: SATA
Unused Space: 0 MB
Status: OK

Logical Drive: 1
Size: 931.5 GB
Fault Tolerance: RAID 0
Heads: 255
Sectors Per Track: 32
Cylinders: 65535
Stripe Size: 128 KB
Status: OK
Array Accelerator: Enabled
Unique Identifier: 600508B100104539535830303230001E
Disk Name: /dev/cciss/c1d0
Mount Points: None
Logical Drive Label: A016B6FEP92B3AE9SX00209E3E

physicaldrive 0:0
Box: 0
Bay: 0
Status: OK
Drive Type: Data Drive
Interface Type: SATA
Size: 500.1 GB
Firmware Revision: 01.03B01
Serial Number: WD-WMASY0182013
Model: ATA WDC WD5000AAKS-0
SATA NCQ Capable: False
PHY Count: 1
PHY Transfer Rate: 1.5GBPS
physicaldrive 0:0
Box: 0
Bay: 0
Status: OK
Drive Type: Data Drive
Interface Type: SATA
Size: 500.1 GB
Firmware Revision: 01.03B01
Serial Number: WD-WMASY0182013
Model: ATA WDC WD5000AAKS-0
SATA NCQ Capable: False
PHY Count: 1
PHY Transfer Rate: 1.5GBPS
The drives keep on failing and the reboot seems to be the only fix for the moment but that only works for a couple of hours.

=> show config detail

Smart Array P600 in Slot 1
Bus Interface: PCI
Slot: 1
Serial Number: P92B3AE9SX0020
Cache Serial Number: P6757AA9SWZ036
RAID 6 (ADG) Status: Enabled
Controller Status: OK
Chassis Slot:
Hardware Revision: Rev A
Firmware Version: 2.04
Rebuild Priority: Low
Expand Priority: Low
Surface Scan Delay: 15 sec
Cache Board Present: True
Cache Status: Not Configured
Accelerator Ratio: 75% Read / 25% Write
Drive Write Cache: Disabled
Total Cache Size: 256 MB
Battery Pack Count: 2
Battery Status: OK
SATA NCQ Supported: False

Array: A
Interface Type: SATA
Unused Space: 0 MB
Status: Failed

Logical Drive: 1
Size: 931.5 GB
Fault Tolerance: RAID 0
Heads: 255
Sectors Per Track: 32
Cylinders: 65535
Stripe Size: 128 KB
Status: Failed
Array Accelerator: Disabled
Unique Identifier: 600508B100104539535830303230001E
Disk Name: /dev/cciss/c1d0
Mount Points: /home/data 931.5 GB
Logical Drive Label: A016B6FEP92B3AE9SX00209E3E

physicaldrive 0:0
Box: 0
Bay: 0
Status: Failed
Drive Type: Data Drive
Interface Type: SATA
Size: 500.1 GB
Firmware Revision: 01.03B01
Serial Number: WD-WMASY0182013
Model: ATA WDC WD5000AAKS-0
SATA NCQ Capable: False
PHY Count: 1
PHY Transfer Rate: 1.5GBPS
physicaldrive 0:0
Box: 0
Bay: 0
Status: Failed
Drive Type: Data Drive
Interface Type: SATA
Size: 500.1 GB
Firmware Revision: 01.03B01
Serial Number: WD-WMASY0182013
Model: ATA WDC WD5000AAKS-0
SATA NCQ Capable: False
PHY Count: 1
PHY Transfer Rate: 1.5GBPS
