HDD leds not on

Hi, on my DL180 G6 the HDD leds - on the disk bays - is only lit for maybe half a second when booting. Other then that, they are turned off. The chassis HDD led on the front is working as expected.

The HDD backplane is connected directly to the motherboard (no sas controller).

Any suggestions

Sounds normal to me. Do they flicker when there's activity, such as writing to the disks?

They are never turned on, no matter the disk activity. The only reason I can say they are at all connected, is because when the system boots, two very short blinks is seen.
