Try to installing SBS 2011 and the error message with wim.xml

Hi,

Could someone help me to solve this problem

I try to install SBS 2011 into HP ProLiant ML350 G6, but it comes up with the following message

"The wim.xml file was not generated correctly. This may have resulted from a failed file copy of install.wim"

How could I go and fix this problem?

Hello!

Are you using the smartstart to install?

Maybe your installation media has some issues?

Hi Johan,

Thanks for your response.

Yes, I am using the smartstart to install.

First I download the software and then bunt into a dual DVD; I think the media might be corrupted.

I will download it again and try some other things until everything’s exhausted then I will seek advice and in the mean time thanks for your suggestion.

I am also having this problem. I am attempting to install Windows server 2008 R2 x64 on a DL380 G7 I am using Smartstart 8.70. The installation gets to 99% after inserting the Windows disc and then this message appears. I have tried different Smartstart disc and different Windows disc. Tomorrow I will install windows without smartstart.

As per the thoughts posted on this and another forum YES the problem was my Windows Media Disc. Thank you all for your support. This item is now closed.
