Hi ,
Have a look for error leds in the system board , they will propably provide you with something you can look up in the troubleshooting and maintenance manual.

I would try reseating memory and possible other riser cards first.

Good luck

We have one DL 580 G5 server. When we power-on the box, the External health LED is showing RED, and some 'beep' sound is coming continuously.

On the back side of the box, all 4 power cables are inserted, and all power-card LEDs are showing GREEN.

Internal health LED and all other LEDs are showing GREEN.

Only external health LED shows RED.

Anyone tell me what else could be the problem ?

Thanks.

But, i believe, if the problem resides with-in the box, then the internal health LED should shows RED. In my case, internal health LED is GREEN.

Here, in my case, external LED is showing RED.

So, i believe, external LED is not related to internal problems.

Ok ,

If this is a brand new server I would call HP as the server is DOA , other than that you can have a look at this

http://bizsupport.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01062643/c01062643.pdf

Page 81 onwards will give you guidance on how to proceed with the troubleshooting.
