Hello every one,

I have a MSA30 connected to an rp4440 through a Smart Array 6400 PCI card, OS is HP-UX 11i Version 1.

I created three logical Drives on the MSA30
---- LOGICAL DRIVE SUMMARY ---------------------------------------------------

# RAID Size Status

0 1+0 140009 MB OK
1 1+0 140009 MB OK
2 1+0 140009 MB OK

When I do a ioscan -fnC disk it shows all three logical drives. But, when I go into sam to create the volume groups it only shows logical drive 0.

How do I get all three logical drives to show up?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Tim

Hi Torsten,

Thanks for the response! I can see the files through I/O scan but "sam" just wasn't seeing them. I decided to create the volume group from command line....

pvcreate
vgcreate

and it worked just fine. There must be a patch or something I am missing for "sam" but I was able to get every thing created.

Thanks again!

Tim
