Hi,
while installing cp014168.exe Online ROM Flash Smart Array P410i Version 3.66 I get an error an all servers:

Upgrade the firmware on the server before installing the Online ROM.

Hi Michael,
what firmware do you mean?
The Online ROM Flash Component for Windows - HP ProLiant DL360 G6 (P64) Servers ist already the newest Version 2010.12.01

Because of many servers, I don't want to update every server with Smart Update Firmware DVD.
Online update under Windows is faster :-)

I just found with HP servers, you want to update controllers with fimrware DVD instead of patches.

I have run into the same problem with the same server models.
The Firmware DVD doesn't contain the latest version of the ROM for the Array Controllers. The DVD only has 3.52. This upgrade is for 3.66.
I am working with a customer where HP has required them to install this ROM, so maybe I will get some answer from them.

I've found that the InstallDLL.dll file inside cp014168.exe is the cause of the error. I've substituted it with the same file from the previous firmware release and its working for me.

it don't work for us.
I try the InstallDLL.dll from previos CP013900.exe and I get the message "The software is not supported for installation on this system."

I use the "Smart Update Firmware DVD Version 9.10C"

Copying the ISO Image file to the HP USB Key Utility For Windows

The HP USB Key Utility is a Windows application that will allow the user to copy the Firmware DVD contents to a USB memory key. Users may then run the Smart Update Firmware applications from a USB key instead of from the DVD. To download the HP USB Key Utility for windows, go to: www.hp.com/go/foundation.

now I put the file cp014169.scexe in diectory \HPFWUP910C\hp\swpackages

To use HP Smart Update Manager on the Firmware Maintenance CD version 9.00 and later:

* Place the Firmware Maintenance CD on a USB key using the HP USB Key Creator Utility.
* Place the desired firmware to be updated in the directory, \HPFWUP900\hp\swpackages on the USB key.
* Boot from the newly created Firmware Maintenance USB key.
* Follow HP Smart Update Manager steps to complete firmware update.

the new Smart Update Firmware DVD 9.20B don't work with USB key utility :-(

manually you can caopy the content from 9.20B iso image on the USB Key. It is tricky, but it work also.

I got that error too, but it did work if I packaged it into the sfx archive and ran the archive.

I solved the same problem using the 3.66 (B) (6-January-2011)
cp014344.exe (4.6 MB)

â ¢ Corrected an installation error while using the Online ROM Flash Component for Windows in a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 environment. The Windows 2003 specific installation error has been fixed in Rev B version of the Online ROM Flash Component for Windows
