The server re-boots.

The memory slot is indicated by an Insight manager console.

The server successfully re starts as though nothing had happened.

We have a large number of machines and intermittently some are indicating a fault with a 512Mb memory DIMM in slot 4. Memory subsequently tested appears Ok. Problem seems to indicate the slot rather than the memory.

Errors mostly manifest themselves overnight whilst backups are running.

Backup agent Omniback v 3.5

I've seen memory problems on this bulletin board before but no record now.

Anybody else having this problem?

You did not indicate what kind of problem you have with the memory ( is it a blue screen with stop error, or server hangs ..) ?
Try swap the memory and check if follow the slot or the DIMM, try another DIMM, make sure you have the latest BIOS, firmware update for the array controller.
Please give us a call for more information at 1800-OK-COMPAQ

Thank you
