I've successfully installed the following on the MicroServer

Debian

CentOS

Fedora

OpenSuSE

RHEL

SLES

Ubuntu

There is not a Linux driver for the embedded SATA software RAID controller, don't enable the RAID function If you really need RAID you can install a P212 Smart Array controller.

If your installing to the 250GB drive you shouldn't have a problem booting. Trying to boot from a 3TB drive will probably not work, Google around for GPT partitions booting on BIOS based systems.

I've been trying to install CentOS 5.6 and 6 or Ubuntu 11.04 on my brand new microserver but it fails. Installation goes through without a problem, but after a reboot the screen goes either blank (Ubuntu) or a basic underline prompt blinks in the upper left corner (centos).

The only hardware change i made is that i moved the 250GB builtin harddrive to the 5.25" slot. I've put in 4 x 3TB in the ordinary slots. But i even tried to remove the 3TB drives and run the install only with the 250GB disk.

Anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong? Anyone successfully installed this combination?
