Smart Start Error Code 13

I am working with a Proliant 5500 and trying to run System Erase Utility from Smart Start 4.8. I cannot seem to get that far with the CD. I get interrupted by an Error Code 13 with a note of a "SPAWN ERROR". Any Ideas?

Run the system erase utility and reconfigure the server.

Your response brings us to the crux of the problem. I would dearly LOVE to run system erase, however, as the Smart Start software is loading, the error is attained before the Smart Start interface is achieved. Any other thoughts?

Create erase utility diskette from the smartstart CD on a workstation first and then run it.
Later again.

I've never seen the floppy version of the system erase utility fail! Once in a while a slight defect on the surface of a CD or flakey cdrom drive can cause problems like this - if in doubt use the floppy system erase utility - if you see the error again, email us at support@compaq.com
