Hi,

We have just updated the firmware on a DL360G7 to 9.3 to resolve an issue with one of our DIMM slots. I think since this update we are now getting warning code "730" with the following message in the Array Configuration Utility.

Warning code 730:

146 GB 2-Port SAS Drive at Port 1I : Box 1 : Bay 1 is part of a logical drive that is not supported by the current configuration. Any configuration command (e.g. logical drive creation, array expansion, etc.) or modification to the controller will result in the loss of all existing data on the disabled logical drive(s).

It is possible that this was happening before the firmware update. We have the original 2 x 146GB SAS drives that came with the server in a RAID1 configuration Does anybody know how to fix this?

Thanks.

Both drives are the same model: 6G / DP / 10k / 146GB / Spare No. 507283-001.

Where can I find what version of firmware we have for the drives and controller?

(I installed the 9.3 firmware from the DVD which I believe does various firmware udpates on the server).

I have not really had a chance to fix this till now, but appreciate all the feedback so far! I have the firmware revision and production revision of both drives:

Firmware Revision: HPDE
Product Revision: HP EG0146FAWHU

So do I need to update the firmware on the controller and disks? Will upgrading the firmware wipe the controller configuration and my disks? If I need to upgrade both, does it matter what order I do it in?

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=4091408&prodNameId=4091409&swEnvOID=1005&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=MTX-b0488e190d37459f85283b6644

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=US&swItem=co-88630-1&mode=4&idx=0&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=4091408
