Hi Navaneeda,

1- Most Likely Cause of the 1777 error is a bent pin on the scsi cable.

Check both ends of the cable for bent pins.
or change cable.

2- Overheating issues

3- Storage Encl. Backplane issues

there could be many reasons for that error, this error is reported by array controller; I would disconnect all cables to the controller and try one cable at a time; also make sure firmware is uptodate on the controller latest is 2.26d or can use 2.26b
and please let me know.

regards,
Srinath

Hi,The firmware update, Version 4.12 P28, contains critical bug fixes and is the minimum version required.Try this firmware and see if the issue still persists. If so than update it with the latest one that you have downloaded. Please perform the update at your earliest convenience. Apart from updating the firware also perform the other steps that i have mentioned. This should resolve the issue.

Link: http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/21978.html

Regards

Srinath

Hi,
Simply power down, disconnect the power cord, remove all the drives and then remove and reseat the SCSI backplane,Bent pins. Does it go away if you press F1 until the next boot?

The SCSI backplane board is not properly seated or the Simplex / Duplex switch on the backplane is not set correctly. Set them right and possibly the issue should be resolved.

Regards

Srinath
