Hello,

I've a proliant ml350 G5. (pn 470064-346)

The cache module's pn# 413486-001

I was sent -as a replacement- pn# 351518-001

but my system will not recognise it. While booting, is says 0MB controller and trying to initialise the controller

Then it says controller failure and ofcourse will not boot (from the hdd).

Could the module i was sent be incompatible or just broken?

Any help appreciated!

Thanks in advance

(pls excuse my english)

Hi

413486-001 is a replacement or alternate ROHS part for 351518-001

http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=120&prodSeriesId=1157688&prodTypeId=329290&objectID=c01724516&printver=true

Ideally you should use 413486-001, however if a controller failure has occured prior to replacing the cache module and you recieved the cache module alone for a replacement controller failure is evident.

well,

a) thanks for the reply

b) I've checked that link as well, but ml350 g5 is not listed there.

With the 351518-001, it won't even reckognise the array

With the 413486-001, the system boots , I log in win2k3 r2, but when I send a large file (2GB and more), the system slows down very much.

First symptoms , while booting, the system "asked" for a battery replacement.

Doing that, it worked fine for almost a month.

Then this new system appeared.

Running tests etc, resulted into changing the module as well.

(The hard disks are ok).

It's not a software problem, I've tried with a clean install, same problems.

Thanks again.

Yes, so I've seen in many forums, thats why I ordered the cache as well. I've contacted my provider, he;ll replace it with the p/n I want, let's hope this time will work.

Thanks for your time mate!
