Dear Friends,

Recently I have a complicated problem on one of my servers, Proliant DL 360 G5. I installed 2 HDD as a mirror disk, but some times one of the on Bay 0 amber lights on, and after I restarting it , the system rebuild the mirror structure, and the color changes to Green. Do you have any idea for this ?

Thanks in advance for your idea.

Hey, run ADU (array diagnostic utility) - if there's any problems it should be possible to find them in there.

firmware etc?

Dear Friends,

After 2 weeks amber light turns on unfortunately, when I restarted the server , it asked me about rebuilding (as a default choice) I accept it , and booted system by start smart and check ADU, but at the report there was not any important thing except some warning about rebuild array being started. Physical Drive diagnostic shows me which they are OK !

Is there any idea ?

I am going to change hard drive to check what will happen in the future?

I am not sure , but is it possible this problem refers to Array Controller?

Thanks!

You can look for more details on the physicla disks in ADU (hard read and write errors for example).

If it's always the same disk that gets rebuilt, maybe it is actually the disk that's broken.

But it could also be a connectivity issue (cable, port in controller, port in disk, actual controller and disk, or maybe disk backplane in the server).

I suppose the easiest thing to start checking is to replace the disk.
