doh - stupid enter key :)

But basically, how do I get the original RBSU back? The command-line is a good idea, but VERY cumbersome and arcane.

You can use the SmartStart CD and use the Erase Utility. It provides options to clean different areas of the system: attached drives, non-attached drives, BIOS, and non-volatile RAM (NVRAM)
Be very sure to select just the NVRAM or you could wipe out your system!!!

Short of erasing NVRAM, the command line to restore the menus is

SET CONFIG BIOS INTERFACE MODE 3

If you type

SHOW CONFIG BIOS INTERFACE MODE

it will tell you that 1 is auto, 2 is CLI enabled and 3 is CLI disabled and will indicate with "<=" which one is currently set.
