HP DL 380p Gen8 Firmware Upgrade via ILO4 ?

Hello Guys!

I want to update the Firmware using Deployment Wizart (Pressing F10 while booting)

When click on Button "Firmware Update", i get error msg: "Unable to contact update server"

I have only ILO4 connected to network and I'll have to wait for SFP Modules --> my new servers do not have Network Ports except ILO at the moment.

Can I update the Firmware using the ILO4 Port only or do i have to wait until the other NICs are ready ??

(btw. ILO4 Network Settings are OK)

Hello,

you have to wait for "NICs ready". Firmware deployment use network interface for communication to internet. Also you can use HP Service pack for Proliant for firmware update - ISO image is possible download from www.hp.com/go/spp . Oflline firmware update - donwload HP SPP 2012.10.0, Full ISO Image, mount with iLO virtual media a boot server from this ISO image - it's similar way howto update firmware as F10 - Firmware deployment.
