Install smart array P410 to DL320s server

Hi all

can I install p410 to DL320s serevr (9Tb)?

Now in server installed old p400 controller

I know what I should replace SAS cable and I purchased it.

as far as I know you cann't use P410 in DL320s.

You can view supported controllers in quickspec.

Or you can view a compatibility matrix.

I know what that controller not present as compatible option because have a different SAS connector.

Maybe if I replace cable to miniSAS-miniSAS it's good idea?

You know, HP can have multiple reasons to say that the controller is not supported.

May be some problems occure when you try to connect it to the server.

May be they just didn't test it for compatibility.

May be they want to sell more new servers with new controllers.

We'll never know why.

And if you want to - you may try. But on your own risk.

It may work or not. My lead to data loss or it may work perfectly.

At least I would reccomend you to make a full backup before you replace a controller.

PCI 2.0 compatible

miniSAS - miniSAS comatible whis previos cable

Say please, can I use built-in SATA of port on motheboard to connect SSD drive?

It's very easy )))

get the p400 and install p410
then install a new driver
