Upgrading server with refurbished SAS HDD

Hi all,

We have one ML350G6 that is still covered with factory warranty 3/3/3. We've already done upgrade with new (not refurbished) hard drives - 3,5" SAS midline that has standard warranty 1y, but since the server has 3y warr, hard drives warranty is prolonged till the end of servers warranty.

Question is, if we upgrade the server with refurbished drives (that normaly have 1y warranty), will they take over servers warranty period?

In our country,the answer can be YES and NO.

So i suggest you ask your local HP Autherised Service Center or HP Call Center to confirm!

Unfortunately, I've asked local HP about that issue, but they're not sure, so they escalated on higher level of support and will provide me an answer ASAP :) On the other hand, my customer is pressing me, so I will have to solve that thing even on my expense.

Since now, I have had two cases with R parts installed, first time they accepted WARR exchange, but second time rejected, so I'd agree with your answer Yes and NO :)

Btw, I'm in EMEA region.
