Anyone have any tips on how to install the correct display drivers? I downloaded (from http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/locate/20_1109.html#4) version 5.0.2195.3249C but when trying to install tells me it's not the correct software for my system.

In the driver section of the display adapter settings the service currently says VgaSave.

Any tricks i am missing to get more than 16 colors on this server?

Thanks.

Dear Matt,

Do you actually have a ATI RAGE IIC in your Proliant 5000? I have 2 older Proliant 5000 Servers and the original video card/chipset is just a cirrus vga. The newer compaq standard is the RAGE IIC. You can verify this by going into your bios settings when the server is booting up if you have the setup partition installed. You should see a message flash for about 10 seconds that says "F10 to Configure/Enter Setup" You then want to go to configure hardware and scroll down through the various components until you see the graphics/video card. If you don't have the partition you can boot off of your Compaq SmartStart CD and select configure hardware and follow the steps above to display the type of video card? Hope this helps. I reconfigure compaq servers all the time and are in these menus quite often...

Regards,
Jose
