May I also remind you that most current SA controllers are only supported in 3,3 V PCI slots and therefor will not fit in your PL5500. Your best bet would be the SA-431 (low budget, only 1 CH).

I'm looking to add a Smart Array Controller to our Proliant 5500 so we can implement RAID. Was wondering which were compatible with the 5500 and were around $300-$400. Thanks.

For around $550 you can get a LC2 Controler or for $650 you can get a 532 Controler.
http://www.smb.compaq.com/dstore/optionCategories.asp?oi=E9CED&BEID=19701&SBLID=&SuperCategoryId=44&SuperCatDesc=drive+controllers&ParentID=30&ParentDesc=software+and++peripherals

Hello;

As some add info, the LC2 controller is only supported in the ML330 and ML350 models.

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/10652_na/10652_na.HTML

Sincerely,

Janine
