ML350 G5 server - Smart Array E200i Firmware Update

Hello,

I have an issue reported through iLO2 IML for a ML350 G5 Server: 1794-Drive Array - Array Accelerator Battery Charge Low.

The current version of the Smart Array Controller is 1.80.

The server host is running ESXi 4.0 with 3 VM guests running Windows Server 2008.

My question is:

Which latest Smart Array Controller firmware should I be installing, Windows (cp018484) or Linux (cp012811)?

The latest version is 1.86.

Depending on your OS you can use windows or linux version to update online or linux version to update offline (using SPP).

You mentioned using SPP to update the E200i controller, but the 2015 editions apparently only have the updates for the iLO2 firmware only and not for any of the other components.

Do you have a pointer to the last SPP supporting the ML350G5 system as a whole (e.g. all the pieces in it)?

I got the system second hand to run ESXi and I'd rather skip installing an OS for the sole purpose of bios updates if possible at all.

SPP 2014.02 has BIOS 2011.05.02 and other components.
