    <description>&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I had same issue with DL360p Gen 8 server and managed to resolve the issue by&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;-&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Uninstall Visual c++ 2012 RTM Runtime Library DLLs (X64/release)&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;- Uninstall "&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;HP Insight Management Agents for Windows Server x64 Editions&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;9.60.0.0"&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;- Install "HP Insight Management WBEM Providers for Windows Server x64 Editions"&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;- Install "&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;HP Insight Management Agents for Windows Server x64 Editions&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;9.60.0.0"&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Info:&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;====&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Looks like "Visual c++ 2012 RTM Runtime Library DLLs (X64/release)" gets installed with&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;"HP Insight Management Agents for Windows Server x64 Editions&amp;nbsp;Version: 9.60.0.0" and causes HP WBEM provider 9.5.0.0 to fail&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I hope it helps.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Regards,&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Jim&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <title>Issue with installing HP Insight Manager WBEM Providers on DL160se G^</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Trying to use HPSMH but none of the features show up.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Get the following message....&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;"Install the latest version of HP Insight Management WBEM Providers and/or HP Insight management Agents from HP Service Pack for ProLiant (HP SPP)"&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;fair enough.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Downloaded the latest version of HP SPP. Extracted it and found the related CP for&amp;nbsp;&lt;SPAN&gt;HP Insight Management WBEM Providers which is cp020347.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Tried to install it and it gave the followign error:&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;"The installation procedure did not complete successfully. An error occurred during the setup process. You may look at the setup log file for more details if desired. Press the 'Close' button to exit Setup"&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Fair enough. Found the logs under C:\cpqsystem\log\cpqsetp.txt file.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;This is what it said about the aborted install...&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;'Executing MSI....Failed!&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;The installation procedure did not complete successfully.&amp;nbsp;&lt;SPAN&gt;An error occurred during the setup process"&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;F***ing BRILLIANT !!! &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Kudos to the HP engineers for writing up such a brilliant error checking log.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;In the meantime I have an HPSMH that is practically useless to me.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Anyoen have any ideas on how to get teh WBEM providers to install correctly?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;BTW, i am trying to install version 9.5.0.0 which is the latest on the support site.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Server is a DL160se G6 server.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>The component you installed is windows ... hence the OS is windows ...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I would use the SPP and run "hpsum" from it. Select/deselct the components you want to install. Maybe you missed a dependency?</description>

I am running two different ML350p Gen8 with Windows 2008 R2 SP1.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;On both machines I can install the WBEM providers version 9.4.0.0 but I cannot install version 9.5.0.0.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I tried the following approaches:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;UL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;downloaded cp020347 and manual installation&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;downloaded cp020347, extracted the contents and manual installation&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Installation via Version Control Agent and local Version Control Repository&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/UL&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;All approaches failed with the very same error message:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Executing MSI...Failed!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Any ideas?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thank you for your help!&lt;/P&gt;</description>

If I understand correctly we would get the full benefit of the new management / monitoring when using HP SIM.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Since we have no HP SIM running (yet) and only rely on the old tradional SMH we would need the WBEM (or SNMP) approach.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Since WBEM is still supported for that server model and the OS I wonder why the install fails.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thank you,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hadi&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;AFAIK you should go with agentless management services if you use HP SIM, but use the management agents for SMH. You should not use both.       <description>That was awesome... I was having issuse installing WBEM on a new server I'm setting up and this was exactly the fix... uninstalled those 2 things as you mentioned and WBEM installed fine after that.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Good to know that 2 months later HP still hasn't fixed/patched the WBEM installer to work around that issue.</description>
