Processor upgrade and ESXi question

I have some HP DL580 G3 servers with intel xeon 7040 processors. As is does anyone know if it will run ESXi 5.x ?

If not will this server take the xeon 7100 or 7200 series cpu's and if it does would it then run ESXi 5.x ?

Hi @jkay16

Unfortunately, upgrading your processor won't help you run ESXi 5.x on your DL580 G3 - this machine will only run up to 3.5.
