boot failure after ip settings

I have a dl380e g8.

I set ip settings in centos remotely using ilo, and when i rebooted the system, it messaged me:

attemting boot from nic pxe-e61: media test failure, check cable

pxe-m0f: exiting intel boot agent and that's clear

server is installed on a data center, what is the problem you think?

may ilo cable should be disconnected and ethernet be connected?

... and can i use both ilo remote and have a cable plugged into nic?

I don't know.

please help me!

Since there is no other boot device or the boot order has PXE boot at top, the server is trying to boot from PXE.

Is this intended? Check your boot settings!

But I was working on Centos remotely by ilo to set ip and network, when finished on OS, it messaged me "reset ilo" and when i rebooted server (remotely by ilo), it didn't boot and now tries too boot from nic, no hdd, however centos is installed on hard disk, note that boot order is like this:

1. cd

2. hdd

etc...

I think it should check network before starting os. isn't it? If i connect ethernet to nic, will that be solved? But why can't boot from hdd?

I'm very confused...

You changed the ILO IP address only?

However, looks like the system cannot boot from HDD hence it is trying to boot PXE.

In POST, can you see logical drives when the smart array starts?

The screen capture doesn't show that it is attempting to boot from the hard drive. Either the system isn't recognizing the hard drive anymore, or the boot order has been changed so PXE is before hard drive boot.

i didn't change ip address of ilo.

i can connect to server remotrly by ilo.

I think that server does't try too boot from hdd, because it does not show any line to boot from hdd.

just cd, and nic.

Tell about your HDDs, how are they connected?

The dynamic smart array has NO logical drives at all.

I have 4 HDDs, two HDDs are in raid 1 and OS is installed on that, and two 3TB HDD are in bay 3,4.

I'm sure that Os installed on first HDDs.

How can I define logical drive?

What if I disable pxe boot from setup to let bios try booting from hdd?

The problem is here - no logical drive.

Did you change that mode recently? Maybe it was AHCI before?

Unlikely because you spoke about RAID 1 ...

Any recent changes other than the ILO IP?

I didn't made any change since last successfull boot of Centos.

I'm sure.

When it restarted, the problem was found. Before that the OS was booting from HDD (in raid 1).

... So, How can I define logical drive?

If there is data on the drives now, it will be gone after the RAID creation ... I would start with only the 2 disks that hold the OS, remove the other disks and power on.

I didn't notice to array configuration at all and didn't notice that logical volume should be defined.

OS was installed, because when i defined array, it booted without any problem.

But I don't know that why this array configurations were removed!
