HP Software update application for HP DL servers

Hi People,

I'd like to know if there is any HP Software driver and software update application which basically scan the server for the existing HP software ( Proliant and SMH) and then update it directly from the internet ?

With hpsum do you need to download the proliant support pack first (so it doesn't get the latest from the Internet)?

can you guide me here please.

I don't think you can just download the HPSUM. Get the PSP and it will be in there. From the link you got, hit "Download Software" - select your OS - and in there is where you download the PSP.

HP SUM would check which components can be updated, but AFAIK it only uses packages that are inside the PSP.

Download HP SUM here:

That will download an iso file. Mount the iso file in your OS. Once mounted run HP SUM. Create a baseline. You will have options to either point it at a PSP (Proliant Service Pack) to create a baseline -OR- download baseline files directly from hp.com
